The leading Brazilian attachment manufacturer SAUR Equipamentos S.A. and the German KAUP GmbH & Co. KG, a worldwide leading company in the field of attachments for forklift trucks and construction machinery, stationary material handling equipment and container spreaders have formed an agreement to cooperate in Brazil. With immediate effect SAUR will market and sell the complete product range of the European manufacturer, whereby the majority of local requirements will be manufactured at the SAUR production plant in Panambí (RS) using KAUP components.

The new Brazilian attachment alliance uses the occasion of the Logistic Trade Fair MOVIMAT in São Paulo (04.08.–07.08.09) for presenting their first joint products as well as a comprehensive product catalogue.

Ingrid Saur, Managing Director of SAUR Equipamentos S.A.: ”KAUP is quasi a natural cooperation partner for us. At the end of the seventies my father began manufacturing attachments under KAUP licence. We speak, in many aspects, the same language. We have a common past history, both are family managed businesses with nearly the same business philosophies and views, so that our cooperation is built on common interests”.

SAUR began producing attachments for forklift trucks in 1979 under a licence agreement with KAUP. When the licence expired SAUR continued on its own course and independently designed attachments which, in the most essential points, followed the design philosophy of the KAUP.

Within the framework of the concluded sales and manufacturing agreement, SAUR receive exclusive rights to commercialize the entire KAUP attachment programme in Brazil. Under guidance of SAUR’s sales office staff in São Paulo consultation and service are provided, in close cooperation with forklift truck and construction machinery distributors, through a country wide distribution network of subsidiaries and service centres.

Holger Kaup, Managing Director of KAUP GmbH & Co. KG commented on the cooperation saying ” For sales combined with local manufacturing of attachments for Brazil, by using components from our modular build system, SAUR is the ideal partner, as they, in an unique way, master the necessary marketing and manufacturing know-how for our products”.

In order to manufacture locally SAUP receive components such as sideshifter kits and clamp body kits which will be completed at their Panambí Plant by in-house manufactured arms, fork carriages or rotating units for being assembled and delivered as complete state-of-the-art attachments of most modern technology.

This strategy promises to the user custom built attachments for each and every specific material handling task whereby local production ensures a cost-effective, flexible spectrum of products at short delivery times.

Spare part supply is also optimally ensured as all relevant wear and tear parts, if not immediately available on site from the forklift truck dealer, are stocked at the Panambí manufacturing plant as well as at the sales office in São Paulo.

„KAUP-SAUR Made in Brazil“similarly allows availability of financing with the popular local FINAME credit.

The first jointly offered attachments, a Double Pallet Handler model range T429 and a Bale Clamp model range S453, are exhibited on the shared exhibition stand at the MOVIMAT logistics show in São Paulo held from the 4th – 7th August 2009. Visitors receive a comprehensive, freshly printed, 100 page product catalogue showing the versatile attachment programme of the partner companies.
