Apprentice "Technical product designer - machine and plant design" at KAUP
"I didn't want to do just any kind of training! It should be something technical with numbers. I already knew this quite early and therefore informed myself about possible apprenticeships in good time. In doing so, I discovered the occupation of 'technical product designer'. At first I hardly knew much about this. So I searched the World Wide Web and asked at the Federal Information Centre ("Berufsinformationszentrum", BIZ) what a 'technical product designer' does. KAUP regularly provides apprenticeships for this occupation and I was able to apply. As I am not from Aschaffenburg, I did not know KAUP directly or through personal contacts before I started my apprenticeship. But that was no problem for myself: the community at KAUP made it easy for me to get started.
Training at KAUP primarily means one thing: cooperation. For myself, this means that I was able to work independently on customer orders quite quickly. Draw, calculate, design, develop. That's what a product designer does. Of course no extremely complex tasks yet. But the requirements are increasing day by day. And that's exactly what makes the training so exciting. I am curious about what is still to come. I am not afraid of it. After all, my colleagues do not leave me out in the cold. I can always go to them with questions. After all, they once travelled the same path as myself.
At the moment, I don't know where and how things will continue for me after my apprenticeship. Maybe I'll take a course to become a "technician". KAUP supports that. But that is still a long way off. Currently, I want one thing above all else: Learn even more and successfully shape the training. And KAUP makes that possible".
