Rotating Roll Clamps for decor paper First use of an optimised rotation limit
Munksjö is a leading international manufacturer of decor paper for surface finishing of wood-based panels. The bespoke decor paper solutions are used after further processing for the manufacture of furniture and laminate flooring as well as surface materials for interiors and exteriors. The innovative company can look back at a history of over 400 years in the manufacture of paper. It employs 1,200 people at six production locations in five countries, including in Dettingen/Erms in Swabia, Germany. For paper roll handling at this location, Munksjö needed a new, rotating paper roll clamp.
Challenges
- Presentation of a suitable, robust attachment for handling paper rolls in decor paper production
- Special requirement: Munksjö needs a rotation limit of 180°, as the roll clamp must not arrive at the end position with a jolt so that the transported paper rolls are protected and damage to the outermost layers of paper is minimised
- Impress long-time customers again with various attachments - including Bale Clamps and Rotating Fork Positioner - with the competence of KAUP to find solutions

- The newest generation Rotating Roll Clamp 3T458B-2 – compatible to the STILL RX 60-50 electric forklift truck
- NEW: Range of rotation limited to 180° with the latest generation shut-off valve and reduced speed at the end position for damped end positioning
- Wear-off bar in Hardox on the arms and external sides of the pressure plates
- Opening range suitable for roll diameters of 200 - 1,350 mm
- Load capacity 3,200 kg at 675 mm LCD
Successes
- New rotation limit successfully implemented at the customer --> transferred to series production - if 180° rotation limit is required, the customer always gets damped end positioning
- Munksjö once again impressed by KAUP, the products, the service and the competence to find solutions - Munksjö continues to use KAUP attachments at the Dettingen location
