Long-standing partnership continued successfully

Aschaffenburg, 30 October 2026 – In early summer, after a project duration of just around 18 months, the time had come: in Bötzingen, not far from the university city of Freiburg, a total of 32 KAUP attachments were handed over to the Motherson site.

The recipient of this large consignment is Motherson in Bötzingen. Behind this name stands one of the fastest-growing automotive suppliers. The company operates in 47 countries worldwide, with over 475 sites. Nevertheless, Motherson is one of those companies that is not known to the general public, even though its products are seen or touched by many people every day. What is the reason for this? At its site in Bötzingen, the company develops and manufactures plastic components for the interior and exterior of vehicles – in other words, products such as centre consoles, door panels and bumpers. To handle these items in production and internal logistics, the site required new forklift trucks and the appropriate attachments as part of a fleet replacement programme.

The forklifts are predominantly electric Linde forklifts of the 1252-01 series with varying load capacities, as well as one H80D/1100. All the forklifts were supplied by Schöler AG, the regional Linde dealer. Across the entire site, the red forklifts are used in two- and three-shift operations with 30 integrated Fork Positioners T466BIZA in various load capacities, a rotating Fork Clamp 2T451A and a Crane Jib 10T183C for tool handling.

Fork positioners with special features

“We are very pleased with how the project has progressed,” says Walter Keyßner, sales representative at Schöler. Why? “KAUP were really quick,” explains the forklift expert enthusiastically, “because it took less than half a year from the order being placed to the commissioning of the many attachments.” Particularly noteworthy: the fork positioners are not off-the-shelf units. In addition to their integration into the lift mast and the bolt-on forks, the T466BIZA units – in the version developed and already in use – have two special features. Firstly, they are fitted with a double-acting pressure relief valve to ensure the forks move in perfect synchronisation. Secondly, the load securing system has been customised. The idea for this came from the KAUP service team, who had, from time to time in the past, encountered load backrest that had been shifted backwards at Motherson in Bötzingen. The fork positioners now feature Load Backrest T479.2 load protection grilles with flat steel bars as vertical struts, as well as forks with raised fork backs that extend right up to the top of the load protection grille. An approach that has also won over KAUP’s long-standing customers.
