Background
- KAUP Australia was contacted as part of the technical consultation to eliminate the manual handling of wine barrels.
- Part of the scope included handling 10,000 new barrels annually.
Solution
- KAUP 0.8T405/130 Barrel Handler forklift attachment (slip-on version), designed to seamlessly lift and transport barrels onto and off the master cradles.
- This innovative attachment streamlines operations, enhances safety, and ensures efficient material handling processes.
- Working in conjunction with the TWE Engineering team, this attachment includes specially designed clamp arms and spacers to easily offer into the cradles to handle 1 or 2 barrels
- As each barrel is handmade, overall tolerances where taken into consideration for maximum handling options.
Successes
- "Introducing the Barrel Handler forklift attachment demonstrates our focus on operational efficiency, innovation, and safety in manual handling processes" said Daniel Bergen of Treasury Wine Estates.
- The Barrel Claw is part of TWE's journey towards optimising supply chain processes.
