LogiMAT 2024 – Attachments: innovative & intelligent
Aschaffenburg, 29th January 2024 – the theme for the trade fair of KAUP GmbH & Co. KG (KAUP) at the upcoming LogiMAT is: “Attachments: innovative & intelligent”. The machine builder from Aschaffenburg will present three attachments in Stuttgart that match this slogan. With the optimised T160B eop fork positioner and a market-ready prototype of the T351X eop rotator, KAUP is once again taking up the focus of last year’s trade fair of innovative electrically powered attachments and showing that development never stops here. Intelligent – that applies to the third exhibit, a T414 appliance clamp with “Smart Load Control”.
Completely new and with innovative detail
The T351X eop rotator comes to LogiMAT with an innovative, compact drive. Special features: “The drive has been developed with regard to the energy efficiency and performance in its power class”, explains Managing Director Holger Kaup. “Because, particularly in the field of intralogistics where electrically driven industrial trucks with battery systems are increasingly being used, the efficiency of the drives plays an important role”, Holger Kaup continues. And he adds: “Compared to our familiar electrically and hydraulically driven rotators, we have been able to significantly improve the efficiency and performance of the drive.”
The T351X eop naturally possesses the advantages of all electrically driven KAUP attachments. It is, for example, easily automated for autonomous and automated systems, can be integrated into existing controls and has a high repeat accuracy. With the possibility of accurately monitoring processes such as position, torque or energy consumption, the T351X eop makes a significant contribution to increased productivity.
Fork adjusting & sideshift innovative
With the electrically driven version of its T160B fork positioner, KAUP was already doing pioneering work some time ago. But at last year’s LogiMAT, the other eop attachments were missing in the presentation. KAUP is making up for it this year. And like the T429 eop, T351 eop and T151 eop in 2023, the T160B eop can be actively driven on the KAUP stand and controlled independently by the visitors.
Intelligent system
The KAUP appearance at LogiMAT 2024 is rounded off with the presentation of an appliance clamp equipped with the intelligent “Smart Load Control” system. This intelligent system, abbreviated to SLC, controls the clamping force of large surface bale clamps both dependent and independent of load. “SLC has fundamentally changed handling with large surface bale clamps”, says Holger Kaup about the patented system, “and was therefore taken up by the market very positively.” Hundreds of appliance clamps have already been equipped with “Smart Load Control”.
But what exactly does ‘Smart Load Control‘ mean? Above all, it means damage-free handling. With “Smart Load Control”, only as much clamping force is applied to the load as is actually necessary. The system, which works without any intervention in the forklift hydraulics, focuses on the weight carried and not the size of the load. Neither a previous definition of the clamping force nor an intervention by the forklift operator is necessary for this. In fact, “Smart Load Control” automatically determines the weight to be transported at the beginning of and during each transport process and adjusts the necessary clamping force – the pressure – to that weight. In this way, SLC always guarantees damage-free handling of the goods and also enables higher opening and closing speeds and energy savings of up to 30%.
